For any pro-lifers reading i'm not opening this up for debate - hence being posted on the pro-choice board
so, I noticed a thread over there about 'what is pro-life'. It's the usual, anti-abortion, anti-euthanasia and anti-embryo research blah blah blah
few things primarily that popped up for me

the so called "pro-choice" movement is in fact in favour of only one choice, ie abortion. For example, a woman who telephones the "british pregnancy advisory service (sic)" looking for help with a crisis pregnancy will not be given any help or advice. They only deal in abortions, performing over a quarter of all uk abortions. They will not even refer the woman to pro-life organisations such as life. So much for choice! |
well, i'm in the uk and this seems to be a favourite of pro-lifers. They fail to note that the bpas abortion care (as it's called) never refers to themselevs as an advisory service. The initials no longer stand for "british pregnancy advisory service", they simply haven't changed the letters because they have been a registered charity under that name for decades.
If a woman is going to a bpas clinic then she's made her choice. Everyone knows it's an abortion provider. Get over it!!!
I'm not even going to think about the edit provided about the abortion act - people seem to claim certain things about it yet never have any evidence.
This was what really made me think though

non-violence
we are opposed to violence in any form. There are admittedly a fewgroups that believe that violence is part of the pro-life struggle, however this is a totally contradictory view to hold. These groups therefore are not and can not be considered to be "pro-life". |
erm...Is she/he implying that pro-choicers advocate violence?? If not then why bring it up?
Seriously, it's this kind of self-dilusional superiority which makes pro-life uncredible imo
