Q: Problem Mole

Hi

i wonder if anyone could put my mind at rest. I have had a mole on my left buttock for as long as I can remember. Being on this part of my body I do not look at it very often, however recently I have noticed it has changed colour very slightly. I have noticed my mole has a small area of dark brown within it. As it is an area that isnt exposed to the sun, is it possible that this could be cancer. I am worried about this and scared about what the doctor my say to me.

I had a mole removed three days ago. It was right in the smack middle of my chest-ugly thing. For years I would stare at it and it soon changed shapes/color ( alight brown). Finally three days ago I drove to the doctor and said remove this thing..I was scared since it was so odd looking. She looked at it and said it was fine..In fact she wasn't sending it to the lab (i have really horrible insurance) bless her. She said the only time to be concern when it turns a black.Blue,red...I would just have it removed-it's so easy and takes seconds. Years of being grossed out to seconds of relief.

Melanoma Survivor!
Hi, before i'd run and have a physican "remove" the mole, i'd go to a dermatologist and have them examine it. They will know more about this mole than your family practioner. I have had so many moles removed its not funny, the latest being what I thought was a deer tick.....Not.... Turned out to be malignant melanoma. The mole was tiny and black and popped up from no where! Your mole on your "backside" sounds like several I have known as common moles. Better to be safe than sorry, go and have this looked at, in fact go for the full body check. I do this every year! Keep us posted! :d

Hi I didn't run to a doctor..Say someone in a back alley just because I didn't (cry) like the mole I went to a dermatologist who removed it since it was near the breast. Don't come off sounding like a "prick" and don't jump to whacked out conclusions just so you know..My doctor said any mole is a bad mole and just get rid of it.

You Need Some People Skills
Not only should your back alley be looking for a new doctor, but for a class that teaches you how to control yourself..........No one was implying anthing to you or about you, yet your insecure self took it at that and came off sounding like a "prick"????Come on, use a different word. It shows where you are coming from miami............

Skin Cancer
First of all, I am new to this forum...After reading "several" questions as far as concerns, regarding skin cancer, I am beginning to wonder what kind of dr's you'll are seeing...First of all, I was diagnosed with malignant melanoma this year & also had several skin cancers removed...Several of you "never" even mentioned your dr doing a biopsy...Any time a dr is concerned about a mole, they do a biopsy before they go any further....The biopsy will tell the Dr., if the mole is cancerous or not...So please, go to a dermatalogist as this is their field...I recently had a mole removed on my back that was cancerous....It was "pink" in color...So see, ya never know!...I wasn't even aware that this "pink" spot on my back was a mole, as I thought moles were brown or black...My advice to anyone is to see a dermatalogist, especially if you have a lot of moles or have been exposed to the sun or used tanning beds...Even if you are not a sun worshiper, the best thing you can do for yourself is have a specialist give you an entire body check...To my surprise, even the smallest moles on the body can be the deadly ones...So pleaseeeeeeee, don't take a chance, early detection is the key!

Any Mole Is a Bad Mole
Omg!, jenny, if my dr removed all my moles, I wouldn't have any skin left...Yes, your dr needs to keep a close watch on moles for changes in size & color, but i've never heard of anyone having all their moles removed...This would require major surgery plus skin grafting galore!
