Q: Continuous Fatigue

Hi, hope someone has some insight on this one.
Have been suffering with fatigue for the last few months. Have had long history of undiagnosed digestive issues, like gas pains in chest, lower abdominal distress, etc. This went on for years. Last may had near fainting event and again another one about 2 weeks ago. Had blood tests, endoscopy, colonoscopy, abdominal sonogram and cat scans. All tests were "normal". Am male 52, with hemoglobin count of like 13.3, which is sort of borderline. Also have chronic sinusitis. New doctor is putting me on yeast free, wheat free, dairy free diet, to see if some kind of candida is making me so tired.
I am also now taking coq10 and digestive probiotica.

Anyone have anything sort of like this? :? :?

I dont know what the problem could be--but I know candida is def something that on the long haul causes fatigue. But it could be a number of things. So...I can suggest vitamin .B-12 for relief from the fatigue---but not a cure for the cause of the fatigue in the first place.

Hi there! Sorry to here of your problems! I too suffer from a lot of medical problems, fatigue being one of many, I an no dr but they might also check you for iron deficiency, cfs, ebv which can also include mononucleosis(sp), have they ran a sleep study on you? Yes, diet is very important along with exercise and stress along with anxiety. Do you have pain along with it, if you do you could look into fibromyalgia.
Hope you get some answers soon!
Good luck!
Keep us posted on what you find out.

Hi sandy,

gee I have had the mono blood test, lyme test.....I am kind of borderline on the hemoglobin test, 13.Something, but Dr.'s not concerned...I just would like to get an accurate diagnosis so I can get this thing solved. No pain, though, just fatigue.
Thanks, sandy.

Hi jgp

well unfourtunatly fatigue is a common symptom to many illnesses so it's hard to say since you are not experiencing any pain.

As for the digestion problems, that's pretty vague too. Has your doctor talked to you about possible irritable bowel syndrome? That can cause digestion problems all sorts of problems and cause major to minor fatigue and no pain (like joint pain).

that is a site about ibs read it and see if it sounds familiar, then reaserch it there are a lot of things you can do to combat it and even some pills like dicitel which i'm on is sometimes used for ibs.

Anyway hope that helps

take care

Thanks stefanie,

years ago they thought I had that because I had digestive distress and they could not find anything in the tests...I appreciate you writing in to help. Amongst those who are feeling well, they have difficulty knowing how it feels to be in distress without knowing why.

Yes, fatigue is a strange one....Takes a lot out of you. I will search until I find out what is happening. In the meantime, hope you feel better with your problem. Jgp
