Im on yasmin, and have been for awhile. My period started february 9th and lasted until the 16th.But alot of times through my period I didn't even have to wear a pad, and when I did, it was so light I couldn't use a tampon. I am sexually active but my partner still pulls out. The 15th I got put on an antibiotic that I had to take for 5 days, for a sinus infection, and recently I researched it and found out it lessens the effects of my birth control. Yesterday I started getting light cramps, and I started spotting dark brown. Now I am spotting real light pink. And still have light cramps and cramping in my back. Never on bc have I had break through bleeding, so I have no idea.. Any ideas what's going on?

Anti biotics reduce the amount of hormones in your blood stream, so many women will spot while they take an antibiotic while on bc. It is very normal.

Pullout Is Not Always Effective..
I wouldn't suggest having sex without a condom if this is occurring.. At least until the pill is in your system. My mom took antibiotics and bc at the same time and I occurred lol. At the time it was unknown that they could lessen the effectiveness or even stop bc from working. Normally it says it on the pack with the yellow tabs.

Same thing's happened to me many times! Like others have said, be sure to use backup protection because antibiotics can make the pill less effective - hence the breakthrough bleeding.

Why thank you! ;) the "dust bunny" part was inspired by a commercial I saw a long time ago which featured cartoon dust bunnies being vaccumed. I tacked the "rabid" part on because well, it just sounded cute. Lol

Women can still spot while they are pregnant, and sperm can remain inside you for a few days, so conception can take up to a week to occur. If you are concerned you may be pregnant, you should make an appointment with your doctor to have a test done.

Just a helpful fact with antibiotics: eat yogurt if you are taking them, as antibiotics can kill good bacteria and you could get a yeast infection. Yogurt helps prevent this!

Yes yogurt actually replenishes the 'good bacteria' in your body that any
antibiotics wipe out with the 'bad bacteria' so its actually a good idea to
eat some yogurt in order to quicken your bodies immune system, so
that you are up to par. And everything works properly!
