Q: Question For Doctor

In december I had an abortion. I did not realize that I had become pregnant and, while at work, suddenly doubled over with extreme pain. It turned out to be an ectopic pregnancy and had to be removed.

The month after the abortion my cycle started pretty much on time. It was heavier and a little longer than normal. This month I am five days late. I've taken two pregnancy tests, one at 2 days past when my cycle would have started (pre-abortion) and one last night (four days). Both came back negative.

Is it possible that I am pregnant again? The sexual activity with my husband has been protected - condoms and vcf film since this episode. As you can imagine - the joy of discovering we were having a baby to we're losing it within minutes was a little hard on us. We don't want any surprises. Logic tells me that vcf film, condoms and two negative tests all lead to one result: no pregnancy. But shouldn't my cycle be back on track by now?

Thank you!

When I lost my little one my period took about five months to get back on track. The first month is was like on time...A little heavier and longer then over the next few months it was kinda off and on weird.

If you are stressing out a lot about loosing your baby it will take a tole on your body and cause your body to get off track or even skip.

I am very sorry to hear of your loss. Just try to take it easy for your body's health.

Take care
