How Can I Best Nurse a Broken Foot?
Posted: 02-22-06 19:59pm

Hi everyone,

i wish I could say i'm happy to be a member of this forum, but the truth of it is I registered because I hope to gain some advice on how best to care for an injury I sustained yesterday. Having said that however, I see that this forum deals with virtually every conceivable condition, physical and mental so I probably will use the forum after i've recovered :)

anyway, I fell down some steps yesterday, chipping off a piece of bone and badly stressing the ligaments down the left side of my left foot. I of course went to casualty and have been adviced not to walk on it for 2 weeks, but it may be a further 6 weeks after that until I can walk normally again.

I have been given a limited amount of info on how to promote healing. Keep the foot elevated, in two days time start to try and move it etc. I was just wondering if there was any other advice you could give?

Anything is appreciated, many thanks.

ps. Here's a link to a pic. I didn't post it here coz I didn't want to gross everyone out :) I also think that the blue-ish area was due to me re-bandaging too tightly. :?
