Q: The More I Scratch, the Worse these Red Bumps Get...What are
asked by: DoctorQuestion on February 22nd, 2006
Hello, I have been getting these red bumps all over my body lately. They do not hurt, but they itch very bad. It also seems like the more I scratch the worse they itch. Most of them are on my scalp, but I also get them on my torso, neck, upper legs and buttocks, and even on my face occasionally. The bumps seem to last anywhere from a day to a few days, but as some go away, others appear. Sometimes they are small and dont really get red, but still itch. I have tried moisterizing soaps, TSal and TGel shampoo, and lotions. I cannot tell if these are even working, but if they are, they arent helping much. Sometimes the itching is so bad, I cant even sleep. Please help me, I am desparate. I will be happy to provide any other information requested.

Red, itching bumps all over your body are frequently caused by an allergic skin disorder. A dermatologist can best help you. S/he can perform diagnostic examinations and then recommend anti-allergic therapy (such as antihistamines and corticosteroids).
