Normally while on birth control your period shouldn't be late unless you are pregnant. I would go to the doctor and get a blood test done. A.S.A.P

Birth control doesn't mess up results of a hpt. If you read the paper thing that comes in the box it should state that somewhere. Hpt's look for the pregnancy hormone, which the pill does not contain.

Actually the pill contains both oestrogen nd progrestrian (sp), theses are the hormones that the pregnancy tests look for

good luck

Ineedhelp16 is right, birth control including pills cannot interfere with an hpt result. Every test will mention this on the information leaflet enclosed in every pack, I think one of the only drugs that can mess up a test are fertility ones, which I am sure your not taking if your not planning a baby.
