i came down with what I thought was a cold about nine days ago. I had a fever for about one day, and no fever since then. My throat then began to hurt so bad I couldn't swallow. Last week I went to the doctor, who tested for strep, which was negative. He said since it was a virus there was nothing really he could do, so he prescribed me tylenol with codeine for the pain.

Well I seem to cough a bit more at night which isn't helping my sore throat any. I feel like I have a painful lump in my throat. My right gland in my neck is still swollen as well.

Then this morning I noticed I have two canker-like sores on my gums, way in the back near my throat.

Should I just go back to the doctor, or a different doctor? Any idea what this could be? Please, if anyone has any advice, please let me know. Thanks!
