Q: Should I Have my Tonsils Removed?
asked by: DoctorQuestion on February 15th, 2006
Hi,

In the past 3 months, I have had extreme sore throats followed by dry coughing and the flu. My one tonsil is very enlarged and has huge holes in it. Should I get my tonsils removed?

If you are suffering from chronic tonsillitis and your tonsils are very damaged... you might consider removing the tonsils. But first, the acute inflammation/infection has to be treated. You can go to ENT-specialist for expert opinion.
