Q: Acne May be Related to a Hormonal Disorder
asked by: DoctorQuestion on February 15th, 2006
How can a person possibly get ance in these place? I ve heard acne being on backs, but not stomachs or back of thighs. Ecspecially my stomach! they come like boils, then they leave lesion the size of the boil. I don;t know how to get rid of this. i the acne that i have on my back is in the middle,( which is embedded under my skin so now they wonlt go away) not so many break outs there, but it is still ugly. Ive taken tetracycline and erythromycin. tetra.. did fight it off while i was taken it , but how should i take it, for years? Erythromycin made it worst so i stop taking it. I use clindomycin and salcylic acid. Helps for my face with neutrogena acne wash, but that stomach is terrible!! Years ago i was on the the shot. You , know? The 90 days one, I ate it so much I forgot the name just now, but that was over 6 years ago. That was the main reason that i stop takeing it because my face was breaking out so bad that is was plain embarassing. Should it last that long? I know some of my problems. One i need to loss weight. I think that if i start a regimen FAST! that should help me. I also have frequent head aches, and break out of hive almost every day which isn;t normal either. So what should I do?
Sincerely,
Itchy

You can seek expert help from a dermatologist for your acne. You can also check the level of male sex hormones (testosterone and DHEA) in your blood. Obesity can also exacerbate problems for you. I think that in your case, acne and being overweight could be related to a hormonal disorder so you definitely need expert help from a specialist, both a dermatologist and an endocrinologist.
