Q: What Causes Extreme Sweating at Night During Sleep?
asked by: DoctorQuestion on February 14th, 2006
I have began to sweat extremeley bad at night while I am sleeping. Recently I have kicked up my workouts to a more strenious level. I am not sure if that has something to do with or not. During the day I do not sweat abnormally. I am a very healthy young woman who eats very well. I am frustrated with this, and it is very uncomfortable at night. Please help. Thanks.

Sleep Disorders Answer A477
Some chronic infective diseases cause high temperature and sweating during the night. However, extreme sweating during the night is frequently caused by an increase in body temperature (above 37oC). You can measure your body temperature and visit your family doctor for blood analyses to begin the diagnostic process.
