You don't have a period at all when you are pregnant. A little spotting can be ok if it is about 4-6 weeks I think. That is when the egg implants in the uterus. Other than that, there shoudln't be any bleeding. Especially if is is pink or red (as opposed to brown, which means old blood), you should call your dr right away. They may want you to have an early ultrasound to make sure the placenta isn't tearing or covering the cervix.
