Hi, I was diagnosed with optic neuritis in
my left eye when I was 5 years old.My left
eye has never had a lot of vision, last
year march 2005 it affected my right eye
which was confirmed by optician and then
neurologist as they could see the damaged
nerves by looking into them.Since last
year my right eye has regained some of the
vision. My doctor sent me for a mri scan
for ms which I didn't realise is connected
in a lot of cases.After blood test's I was
told I wasn't absorbing folic acid.Since
then I have been taking folic acid and b
complex which has helped a great deal
,although I still have plenty of symptoms
but it does make a huge difference to
me.So in my case the nerve damage could
have been something to do with vitamin
deficiency. So I have always wondered how
this has been caused? I suppose there are
many causes? I have never come across
anyone who suffers ongoing optic neuritis.
It would be nice to hear some advice and
general thoughts, sam.
