I am in so much emotional pain right now.
Please listen to my story.
I dated a guy for a very long time and was
sexually active (unprotected) with him.
Then I find out he cheated on me with 2
other girls (he told me he used a
condom... Sometimes). After going to the
clinic I was diagnosed with hpv and had
visible warts. I got them treated and at
the same time found a new boyfriend. We
were dating while I was getting the
treatment for my warts and so I decided
not to tell him I had it bc I was
embarrassed and really really afraid that
he'd leave me (plus, they were getting
treated!). Its almost a year now and all
the warts are gone. I feel healthy and I
havent gotten them since. But just
recently I noticed a few bumbs on my
boyfriends penis. They are really small
and im still not sure, but they might be
warts. But my biggest problem is, how do
I tell him?? I feel like such a horrible
person for doing this to the person I love
so much. How do I tell him that I may
have possibly given him genital warts when
I thought I was cured?? Its a very stupid
thing on my part, and I beat myself up
everyday about it. I just dont know what
to do.
Somebody, please, anybody. I am in so
much need of advice. Im a horrible
girlfriend and I would completely
understand if he never wanted to see me
again, but my main concern is getting him
treated. So how do I tell him??

My friend was in the very same situation
last year. She just came straight out
and told her boyf what had happened with
her ex and how she thought she was cured
and how sorry she was. He was very
understanding and thanked her for telling
him. Be brave and tell im the truth.

Hey, I have hpv too, and I never told my
boyfriend untill recently becaus e now im
having other complications with my cervix
now, I also havent had the warts every
since I got rid of them .. I dont think
you gave him the warts but you prbably did
give him the virus ( I think) I am still
looking at the pathogenisis of the virus
but I dont think you can give him warts
unless you have the warts present... I
think. But my boyfriend never goit any
warts and the bumps are probably normal?,
I dontknow im not a guy, if they are not
huge pronounced bumps like your warts were
I dont think you should worry, but get
your info together brfore you tell him,
you should let him know everything about
it ok?

Thank you guys so much for your replies.
It is really comforting to receive advice
especially from people who understand the
situation. Im still very very afraid but
no matter what I am going to tell him.
Thank you so much!

Just a fyi: you can spread hpv without
having an outbreak. There are many
carriers of the virus, meaning; they never
had an outbreak themselves but caused
their partners to develope warts on their
genitals. I know it seems embarrising, I
have had my own experience with an std,
but you would be surprised how common they
all really are. Especially warts &
herpes.
