Q: Kidney Pain Or Back Pain...how Can U Tell the Difference?

I have a lower back problem. I strained my lower back a little over a year ago and have continuous pain. Nothing too major but enough to know never to lift anything over 10 pounds. I have open medical coverage for the back problem but I know that I also drink too many caffiene drinks and so sometimes i'm a bit skeptical about goin to the doctor about my back cuz i'm confused on whether or not its my kidneys bothering or my lower back strain. Are there symptoms I should know to tell the complete difference??
