Hello. I've been with my boyfriend for 6 months and he's the only person i've had sex with. I went on the pill last month and we have sex with out a condom a few days ago. I had just finished my period and started my new course of the pill and was wondering if I was completely protected from pregnancy or not. The leaflet I recieved said I was but I am still unsure.
Also, I heared you can get sti's from oral sex. I've have oral with two other guys previous to my boyfriend, both were very brief but should I still get myself checked?

The pill is highly effective if taken correctly.
Are you taking it at roughly the same time each day?
Did you use alternative contraception (condoms) when you first commenced the pill?
Have you had any vomiting or diahroea that would diminish the effects of the pill?
No contraception (besides abstenence hehe :p) is 100% effective, if you are really worried then complete a pregnency test.

I know that it is possible that through performing oral sex on a partner who is currently infected with the herpes simplex 2 (genital herpes) you can develop these in your mouth (present as cold sores)
hope this helps

I've been taking it correctly and everything. I don't think I could be, I just worry about stupid things a lot.

I have the number of a gum clinic, I might phone up and ask to speak to a nurse and see what they say. I personally don't think it could be possible I have any sti's unless from my boyfriend but he has only had sex with one other person and he always used condoms and he never gave her oral or recieved.

Thankyou for your help.

There are a few stds that can be transmitted orally. Herpes and chlamydia are two that come to mind right now.

Do you have any symptoms? Or any concerns that you would be worried about?
