Three months ago I awoke to "pins and needles" all over the right side of my face and arm. I was so scared and never have experienced that before. I did not go to the hospital and I am very thankful that I am alive-i will never do that again. Since then I have had blood work, ekg and all came back normal. I have cut out caffeine and changed my diet to also include exercise. I am only 32 but see that tia can strike anyone.
My doctor seems positve with the results and my well being but would like me to go see a neuro-doctor. This is very expensive. Say they were to see that I had a tia what could be done? I take my aspirin everyday and don't want to thin my blood anymore. Any feed back would be great because I don't want to have a major stroke.

Thank you

Hi,

you should see a neuroligist and have an mri scan. Tia is not the most likely cause of the symptoms you describe at your age.

If you have had a tia at your age, there are a few specific causes that should be looked for, including a thrombophilia screen and others that would not apply in older perple and these results could affect your treatment.
