Q: Pain During Sex/random Cramping???

For the past couple of months, it has been painful for me to have sex with my fiance. It burns really bad during penetration, and although the pain usually subsides as we get going, sometimes it hurts the whole time. About 90% of the time, I bleed a little bit (just enough to notice on the toilet paper).

This is soooo frustrating! At first I thought the problem was that we were having sex too much. But we've tried several times to wait a week, and it never seems to help. The weird thing is, a few days ago we had sex and it didn't hurt at all - I thought the pain was finally over. But when we had sex again last night, it was the most painful it has ever been. I don't know what I should do. If it keeps happening, i'm probably gonna go to the doctor. But i'm afraid he'll say to just stop having sex so much. Even though that may be the problem, I don't see why it would still hurt so bad after going a week without sex. Maybe i'll wait 2 weeks this time and see what happens.

Also, i've noticed that i'm getting really random cramps lately. If I cough or laugh, it feels like my ovaries get "twinged" or cramp up. I also will sometimes get random period-like cramps for no apparent reason. I just switched birth control pills, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Anyways, any of your opinions would help. It's probably nothing, but it's definitely gotten my attention and I just don't know what I should do.

Emily

It's most likely your birth control. I had been having the same problems and went to my doc to find out what was going on with me. I have been on the same kind for the past 5 years and my hormone levels had changed causing me to have cramping, pain during sex, and very light bleeding. So as soon as this last pill pack is done, i'll be taking a new kind. But just to be safe, i'd get into the doc. It could also be a cyst on your ovary (which is no big deal, they have meds to get rid of them). Good luck and I hope you feel better soon. =)

Light Bleeding And Pain During Sexual Intercourse
Hi Emily,

I have never mentioned it to anyone but I also have pain during and after sex, along with light bleeding. Not every time, but the majority.

I have not been on contraceptives for a good 15 years.

I don't feel brave enough to ask a doctor. I haven't had a pap smear for a long time. I hate them.

If you don't mind invasive techniques, see your doctor.
