I have been having "heart palpitations" for the last couple months now. From my research, the phrase heart palpitations is very vauge, and can feel like and canbe caused by many different things. I struggle trying to find the words to describe them. Can anyone who has them describe them to me? I just wander how many other people feel these as well. Thanks for your help!

I'm not sure exactly what they are either, but what I call them: when my heart is beating normally, then all of a sudden feels like a big thump or group of thumps that seem to be out of rythym with how my heart was beating normally. They catch you by surprise and freak the heck out of you. So for me, that's how I describe them.

Yeah... That is definitely like how they are for me too. They are certainly scary and I wish I could make them stop...... Have you found anything that has helped yours or anything that tends to bring them on?

No I haven't found a way to stop them, and I can't really tell what brings them on, but I notice they always happen when i'm sitting still and trying to relax and have quiet time. Not sure why, but that's always what happens w/ me.

Yeah... They always hit me when I am sitting down relaxing as well, hardly ever when I am up moving around. The only correlation I have been able to link to them is that I tend to notice them about 1/2 to one hour after I eat... Usually dinner. My doctor told me that they are most likely pvc (premature ventricular contractions) and they are harmless, they just feel bad. I have looked into them and they are definitely a possibility. You may want to check them out and see if you can relate to them. Best wishes... Keep in touch!

Wow
I have the very same thing. I kept forgetting to call my doc and express my concern (my grandmother had double bypass and was a diabetic).

I feel much better about it, but i'll still ask all the same. Thanks all
