Q: Tongue Problem.

I have a problem. I have an enormous tongue and a small mouth. I can easily stretch my tongue out so many inches and it would seem to be a tight fit for my small mouth.

That's not exactly the problem. The main problem is a white discoloration that has coated the the lot of my tongue. Whats not white is, of course, pink. The doesn't seem to be a rank odor from it, though. Occasionally I will also develope bumps on the side and tip of my tongue (more so towards the end of it) that are fairly hard. They go away with time, but feel quite raw, but no real pain. At the moment the tips' side of my tongue as white snake/worm looking lines. They arent real big, but seem to have recently developed. Occasionally I also get irritable taste buds that seemingly swell larger then normal on my tongues surface

does anybody know what this is or how I can treat it?

I brush daily, i've never had cavities. I brush my tongue and it doesnt remove the white coloration or the irritable buds. I'm mainly focused on this problem because i'm assuming the rawness and stiff bumps that develope on the sides are from the compaction of my tongue into my teeth and theres no way I can really prevent that.

I'm actually having the same problem at the moment. It could be that you have too much sodium in your diet. Sometimes when you eat too many salty foods it irritates the inside of your mouth a lot. I don't know for sure. It's just a possibility.
