After removing the tonsils, there are two wounds left in the throat and it is normal for a wound to bleed if the wound has not yet healed. In the case of a tonsil removal, is also normal to swallow the blood from the cut. A wound needs time to heal. Intervention is requested only if there is more blood present from a new wound. Your niece can ask her ENT specialist about more information about a liquid food diet and the effectiveness of antibiotics in treating the wound.
