Gb Pain Had Stones-now Gone, Hida & Blood Work Normal
Posted: 02-06-06 22:59pm

I have been suffering for months with severe pain, upper right quadrant, just below the ribs, and around the back. Nausea, belching - all the symptoms. I am a celiac (wheat intolerant), but didn't know it until I was 40 - am now 47. Malabsorption, light stools.

Had ultrasound in er november 1, 2005 - doc said full of stones. Then again dec. 2nd, 2005- again, full of stones. Docs there said I should have it out, but because I have no insurance they could only authorize surgery if it bursts. Come back then.

In er again late january 2006, no gallstones on ultrasound. Had hida, came back 'normal'. Pain unbearable. Now they want to take away scripts for vicodin --worried about addiction. Yeah right. I have read many posts in many sites about people who have had similar situation, but none who had stones and then they were gone. Have also read that gallstones don't necessarily mean pain, and that pain is usually associated with something other than gallstones.....?????

Can barely work, or function in general. Sleep practically sitting up in bed, on a wedge with pillows. Am trying to get referred to a gi doc. No guarantees tho. I just *know* that if I had my gallbladder out, that I would be better. Had a similar *knowing* about needing a hyterectomy about 10 years ago. Said it was normal on the laparoscopy. Finally, got a doc to beleive me, and he said it was the worst case of endometriosis he had ever seen.

I need some medical backup on this. Anybody got any ideas for help????
