Clear mucous from the rectum can indicate a rectal inflammation, also called proctitis. Colon inflammation, or colitis, manifests with mucous feces, too, but during this condition blood in the feces and cramps are also present. You can start by seeing your family doctor, and then requesting a referral to a GI specialist if necessary.
