I have a question about my period.
I'm 19 years old. I'm not sexually active or taking any medications or anything. I have always had very normal periods until about a few months ago. I started having this brownish discharge, very light a few days before my period. It was so light it only showed up on toilet paper after I wiped. It would only last for about an hour, and then I would get my period, as normal, a day or two later.
I went to the doctor for this, and he basically told me to wait about six months! I really don't feel comfortable doing that if this is serious. But at the time I thought maybe he was right and it would go away. But it hasn't. He didn't examine me. I took a urine test, and everything was fine with it. And all he did other than that was ask me questions. I've had a month or two without the strange blood, but it happened this month.
I thought this could be stress related at first, but it's starting to happen when I am not under any stress at all. So i'm really confused. I don't want to go to the doctor again because I don't have health insurance, and I have a feeling he won't tell me anything different since it hasn't been that long. I just don't think this is going to go away on it's own. I wouldn't have a problem with it if I knew for certain that it wasn't serious, but i'm not sure. I have no other symptoms. My period is the same as it's always been, and I feel fine. But this is creeping me out.
Does anyone else have this? What is it and should I be worried??
