Please Read This And Respond I Dont Want to Mess Up! Posted: 02-06-06 10:05am
This is my first time taking a pill for
birth control. I’m going to be taking
lutera a form of allesse. I’m just
confused she said I have to take it the
first sunday of my period, but what
happens if my period is from mon-friday?
Do I have to wait until the following
month or take it the sunday after it? And
the other question is, the last week are
different colored pills, that’s the week
im supposed to get my period right? If I
don’t get my period(if it messes my
periods up) do I still take the different
colored pills or get a new pack right
away, please please someone get back to me
I don’t want to mess this up and my drs
office never calls me back.
Thank you!

Don't be nervous! It is ok. For the
first question, as far as starting the
pill, you are right, it is sunday after
your period starts. Even if your period
starts on a sunday, you take it on that
day. If your period starts on monday, you
take it on sunday. I don't know what
color your pills are, b/c I am on ortho
tri cyclen. My pills are green for the
placebos and they are the last pills in my
pack. The last pills in your pack, I am
assuming are your placebos..And yes you
will get your period then. You were
asking that if for some reason you don't
get your period then, what do you do? You
start your new pack. It may be common
that your period is a little off for the
first 3 months or so, that is why it is so
important not to mess up! You will be
fine as long as you take them at the same
time everyday and don't miss any. If for
some reason, later down the road, you
don't have two periods in a row, then you
need to get an appt with your doc. Even
the pill packs will say that even if you
miss one period (provided you took your
pills perfectly), don't panic, it is if
you miss two periods, you should get to
your doc.

Some women do miss a period on pills,
which can be scary, but it is normal. You
keep taking your last pills in the pack,
and then you start a new pack when you are
supposed to that next sunday.
