Waiting And Pretty Stress Posted: 02-05-06 22:12pm
I unfortunatly had sex with a prostitute.
First, she performed oral sex (i was
protected a with condom she provided).
I'm not sure if there was a break in the
condom but she changed it with a new one
before vaginal sex (i assume there was a
break during oral sex but not 100% sure).
I performed vaginal sex for only a few
minutes as I came pretty fast. There was
no break with the condom and everything
looked fine.
About 1.5 month after, I started to have a
mild discomfort or pain slightly lower
than my left armpit. Then same thing
happened on the right side but milder. It
went away and came back about 2 weeks
after but this time it was more around the
pectoral muscle. Also went away after a
few days. I've had a very mild sore
throat for over 1 month. The lymph nodes
around my ears also feel tender but I
don't think they are swollen though. Now
for the past 2-3 days, i've felt a very
slight headache located on the lower back
of my head. I also noticed 3-4 small
redish patch on my chest (about 1/4 inch
round, flat and not itchy).
I went to get tested 2 months after having
sex and i'm still waiting for results.
I'm pretty much going crazy right now
while I wait for the results (they will
call within the next 2 weeks if something
is wrong). Is there a chance I can be
hiv+? From what I read, chances are low,
but these symptoms are driving me crazy.
I really hope stress is causing all
this.
Thanks

Yeah your chances are very low, I think
your just worrying about it way to much,
which is causing you to think every little
problem is a sign of hiv!
I've heard it takes a gallon of saliva to
transmit the virus so, but im not sure if
that was just kissing, or if its the same
for oral sex!
How long does it take to get the results
back?? It seems like it's been 4ever!
Good luck on your test results let me know
how it goes!

I must tell you that your risk was nil, if
sex was protected. Let me tell you, you
would notice if the condom split.
Insertive oral sex is not considered a
route of transmission by experts, as
saliva does not transmit the virus.
I am entirely confident that you are hiv
negative from this scenario.
What I suggest you do is visit
aidsmeds.Com, and post your question in
the 'fears' section. They will give you a
response within minutes, as there is
always an expert online. That site is
highly recognised as an authority. They
will tell you that you didn't even need to
test.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm feeling
better already. I did go on the other
forum and they said exactly what you told
me. I will post my results when I get
them.
