Q: Headaches- Sharp Pains

In the last couple of months I have been experiencing extreme headaches off and on. They are across the front of my head most of the time. From the internet research I have done they seem to be caused by stress. At this point, over the counter meds seem to help make it go away. My only concern is that they still come back.

Today I have begun having sharp shooting pains behind my eye and near my ear. They come and go throughout the day. I have not had a stressful day so cannot imagine they are stress related??

Any explanations?

I used to get extreme headaches over a period of a few months. I even made a trip into the e.R. B/c of one particularly bad headache. I've been told they are from stress/anxiety. I didn't think I was stressed or anxious either, but apparently I am b/c every time I have gone to the doc for something they always say "it's just stress or anxiety". Also, do you know if you have tmj? That can give horrible headaches.
