You can have menstruation-like bleeding throughout a pregnancy and still have it be a normal pregnancy. I think it's something like 75% of the time there's bleeding at all, a reason is never found for the bleeding. You can also test negative on hpt's right up until you deliver, although that's obviously less common. I host a birth club and one of my moms had this happen to her.
What you need is a blood test to determine pregnancy, and if that still shows negative, then you can ask for an ultrasound. If a baby is large enough to feel movement, then there's virtually no way it would be missed in a u/s, especially a level 2 or 3 u/s.
The "kicking" sort of feelings can actually be gas moving around inside you, but to feel baby movement you'd have to be at least 12 weeks pregnant or more. A baby simply wouldn't be large enough before that to feel it.
