Q: Possible Ms

My boyfriend was told a few years ago that he has ms. He is very stubborn and will not go back to the doctor. He has complete numbness in his left leg and lately it has been traveling into both legs(for minutes at a time) sometimes he is unable to move due to the complete numbness in his legs and for fear he will fall. For a few months now he has been complaining of numbness in his left ear and hearing loss. Is this a symptom of ms as well? What should be done? I am worried..

You need to try and convince him to see a doctor as fast as you can... Cause it sounds like it's progressing fast. I dont know what you need to do to convince him but you need to do it fast!!
Maybe they'll give him some prednisone for a quick fix and then he can think about better types of treatments as prednisone has major side effects.

He does not have any health insurance, so he sees that as a problem. I say who gives a s*** and go see a doc anyway. His job requires alot. He is a set carpenter for a show. I believe he knows he needs to go see someone, but he doesn't want to hear how bad his condition could be. It is upsetting to me, I love this guy alot. He also has 2 kids. I always tell him to go to a doctor, I just don't think he wants to hear it. I am very worried and don't know exactly how to get him to go. He is out of town for half of the week every week for work, and when he is home he has his kids. Should I call around and ask some questions? I will not make any kind of appointment without him knowing about it, but I can still ask around and see how much it would be for him just to get checked out. Ugh, it is somewhat frustrating...I really care about this guy alot..

Yeah you should do whatever it takes.. A doctor's visit wont cost him an arm and a leg, and a container of prednisone is only approx 30 dollars. At least this can get him to feel better again until he decides what to do.. He's going to have to get insurance on his own. This is serious my friend.
I was like him at first, but he needs to face this like an adult. There is all kinds of s--- we dont want to hear in our lives, but most times we need to for our own good. Does his family know? Maybe they can talk to him too... Maybe if more people tell him, he'll change his mind.

contact the ms socity u can go to there website http://www.Nationalmssociety.Org they will be able to give u a list of places that will help him. Maybe you need to be bluntly honest with him putting it to him in a way that is a bit harsh but make him open his eyes
play the what if game what if this happens at work, and something bad happens how will he support his kids and so on and on, regardless of lack of money there are places that can help him go to that website and contact someone, they will send any information that is asked with list of doctors and finnacial add with doctors and meds
