Hi, i'm a new pill user. I'm almost done my first pack & I am on alesse 28. I started the pill on the first day of my period. I have 1 active pill left, and the 7 sugar pills. According to what i've read, your period should come sometime during the green pills. My period usually doesn't come until around the 15th. When I take the last active pill, and the 7 following sugar ones, the date will be the 11th.

**if my period doesn't come by the time i'm done the sugar pills (by the 11th), should I start a new pack, or wait until my period starts?

Thanks in advance.

Hi there

unless you have reason to think you are pregnant, then continue to take your next pack after you finish the sugar pills.

Regards, sandy

I know i'm not preg. I haven't had sex yet.

But doesn't taking active pills stop your period from coming? That's what i'm worried about. If my period doesn't come when i'm on the inactives, do I keep going with a new pack, or will this make my period not come at all?

You need to take the pills as instructed to do so. When your period is supposed to come doesn't matter. Your cycles will change while on the pill.

Even if you do not have a period you should continue to the next pack as usual. The period you have on the pill is a "fake" period caused by lack of hormones, but some women only spot or bleed lightly.

absolutely. Your cycles should adjust themselves to the cycles of the pills. Just continue to take them and start a new pack as soon as you finish one. =)

oh okay, that makes sense. Thank you so much! It'll be nice to have a light period.
