Q: 8 Days And Counting, Period Wise.

- on january 13th, my girlfriend and I had intercourse for the first time.
- she ended her period two days before we had sex.
- she has been on birth control for awhile now, and has been having her period at 28 day intervals regularly, they always lasted 5 days.
- she had been taking the pill at 12:00 pm every day, but between december 20th - january 1st, she had been taking them later in the day, she once took the pill at 1:00 am, but she always took her pill.
- her period did start the day it was suppose to, and we had sex friday and saturday without condoms, on sunday she took the morning after pill.
- that would be 40 hourse approx. From the time we first had sex.

Now to the problem I am having. She had taken two pills before we had sex, that thursday and friday. She also took a pill on saturday. Sunday, and monday she did not take the pill, and on tuesday she got a new pack of pills and started the pack like she was suppose to (pharmacist said she could).

Anyway, speed up to about january 26th, she starts her "period". She said it was very little blood, but it was very constant, and it is now february 3rd and she hasn't stopped her period. Not only is this only like 2 weeks after her last period (which is unusual), but it is a lot longer then her usual period.

We have every intention of a preg. Test, but we need to wait a few more days before her period is expected to start, we planned on using the early warning ones.

To my final questions...

1.) what does this period mean, does it mean she is pregnant?
2.) if it means nothing, does it mean it is more likely she is pregnant, or not-pregnant?
3.) would her mis-behaviour with the brith control lead to this odd period?
4.) do any of you have anything I could find helpful?

***i know I should have used condoms, i'm sorry, please don't hassel me, I feel bad enough***

Did she skip a period by continuing to take pills and not go onto the placebo pills? That could possibly explain the oddness of her current period. How many days has she been bleeding now?

I take my pills as religiously as your girlfriend does, and I have had unprotected sex after my period, while I was on the placebo pills, before I started the active ones, and I have never gotten pregnant from it.

Get a test done, since she is on a period of some kind, the test should be accurate. I really think it's because she didn't take a full week of placebo pills that has caused the oddnes, and also you mentioned that it is only 2 weeks since her last period? That may also be why.

she stopped bleeding today, it was about 8 days. Very light bleeding. I think i'll try to get a test done tomorrow. When her recent bleeding started she continued to take her pills as if she was not bleeding.
