Recently Found Out I Had Ovarian Cyst Posted: 02-03-06 23:46pm
My husband and I have been trying to
conceive for about 6 months now and no
luck yet. I recently found out last month
that I had some ovarian cyst to burst. I
had a ct and they said that it was several
that had bursted. I have an apt with my
gyno on the 23rd of feb. That is the
earliest I could get in. I have been
having severe pain, nausia, lower back
pain, weight gain and have been very light
headed.. Today I was suppose to start. I
usually have very normal periods that are
on time every month. Today I have been
very nausiated and had severe back pain
with lots of discharge. The pain is so
bad that it takes me a few mins to get up.
I was just wondering if anyone here has
any idea what is going on. I am very new
to this. I dont know anyone with ovarain
cyst. So if anyone could just give me
their input on what they think is going on
it would be greatly appreciated. Thank
you

My own personal opinion and I am no Dr.,
but I would either let your Dr. Realize
that this could be an emergency as I do
not know much about ovarian cysts and see
if he could squeeze you in or try to get
in to see another Dr. Or go to the e.R.
Their is no need to suffer like you are
doing! I would be a little leary of an
infection!
Please let us know what you find out!
You are in my thoughts!

i would suggest if these symptoms keep up
make a list of what all your feeling and
go straight to the er. :(

I had an ovarian cyst to rupture last
week, last wednesday. I had three trips
to the er because of it. The first trip
I was in horrible pain, my fiancee and
myself had just went and got some
breakfast. We came home and I laid on
the couch, because I was having horrible
back pains and I started hurting really
bad in my stomach. The past two years
the doctors have told me I have had
everything from ulcers to ibs to simply
gas. They never checked my ovaries.
When I got to the er they started doing
tests on me, they did an ultrasound and I
felt like my bladder was about to bust
because I had to pee sooo bad. The
ultrasound tech told me she was glad I
spoke up because I was about to have to
get a catheter, and she told me my bladder
looked almost completely full. They
didn't find the ruptured cyst, but from
the fluid on my bladder they found with
the ultrasound they could tell this is
what had happened. They told me to stay
away from caffeine. They also gave me
birthcontrol to regulate my hormones, this
is suppose to help cyst from forming.
The doctor told me usually cyst go away by
themselves but I had been really stressed
and stress can cause them to rupture.
The very next day thursday, I was doing
okay my right ovary was hurting from the
cyst rupturing, and my lower back but I
didn't feel that bad. Well my stomach
started swelling. I was eating
watermelon and drinking water. I felt
like I was about to bust to pee, I went to
the bathroom, and I couldn't pee at all.
I called the er and they said come
immediately. So when I got there I tried
several times to use the bathroom, but
nothing, they had to put a catheter in me.
The bad started felling up instantly.
My doctor was on call at the er this day
luckily, and he gave me a choice to stay
in the hospital or go home. I choose to
go home because my fiancee could help take
care of me and his parents as well.
The doctor told me the cyst caused my
bladder to basically stop working, and it
could have caused my kidneys as well if I
hadn't came on it.
Both trips to the er they gave me a shot
of dimeral and pain medicine, and
antiobiotics. My doctor told me to come
back monday to get the catheter taken out.
I was fine with that.
Well I didnt' make it to monday, I was
back up in the er saturday in serious pain
once again from the cyst and the catheter.
A foreign doctor was on call. And he
basically gave me a shot that did nothing
for me and sent me home.
Well monday I went in to see my doctor,
and the first thing I asked was how long
does this pain last from a ruptured cyst.
He told me the recovery would take
atleast two weeks.
Today is sunday, and I am still in serious
pain, he wrote me a prescription of pain
pills but now since I have been taking
last wednesday of last week they don't
really help out any. I am scheduled to
see him this wednesday to get my ovaries
checked. You are suppose to go back in
ten days to get a checkup to see how
everything is going, when a cyst ruptures.
But now I believe I have one forming on
my left ovary because I have a pain on it
like I did my right one, after it
ruptured. And I have been pretty
stressed the past couple of days.
Whenever I go to the restroom the pressure
of peeing hurts my ovaries.
I am going to ask my doctor about all of
these problems when I see him wednesday.
I hope this has helped. I am very young
only 18 and very worried, but you can
start having cyst form as soon as you
start your period, and they believe I have
had them every since I was 16 but they
never checked my ovaries once.
Luckily I have medicaid. But if your
still having problems please go back to
your doctor. Because my doc told me they
can form often, and even more so if you
get stressed easily.
