I think I have been suffering from anxiety for about 6 months now. It all started with a heart palpitation that ended up being nothing. I have had weird symptoms over the past months, but doctor sees nothing abnormal.(fyi I am a 20 year old female) last week my pupil dilated very oddly and wasn't a normal shape. Doctor recommended seeing an opthalmologist and he could see nothing for concern. Ever since then, I have had a terrible head ache that comes and goes during the day. Stress?? Anxiety?? I can't get the fear that it might a brain tumor out of my head. Has anyone else ever experienced something like this? Also, I do not want to take meds for anxiety relief, but it is really getting to me. Any other suggestion for relief? Thank you!

Just wondering...Did the doctor do any scans or anything to check it out? Have you had problems with your eyes before?

I have never had any problems with my eyes before... Perfect eyesight.... In fact, I am a pilot which requires at least 20/20. The wierd pupil thing didn't seem to affect my vision at all, just felt and looked really weird. The opthalmologist did a complete eye exam, but I am not sure exactly what he did. I have been having a lot of muscle twitches lately as well.... Wonder if it could be related? Thanks a lot... :)

Hi there,

i`ve had very similar symptoms and it was realted to two different things. Firstly my headaches it was partly my anxiety but I also had a bad viral infection which started it all. The anxiety made my head pound so badly as I was holding all the tension in my neck and shoulders. My pupils were funny shapes and one was much wider than the other, I was told this could be the virus so I had it checked out with an eye test. I was told I had astigmatism which is your people instead of being round was shaped like a rugby ball and also I had adies syndrome where my pupils are slow to react to light and sometimes my pupils look like they have taken over my whole eye. It` s not sore or bad in anyway just annoying in bright light.

I did have scans done also which ruled out anything major, it might put your mind at ease. ( I don`t wear glasses either)

I also had a bad viral infection at the base of my head near my spinal cord. It caused excruciating headaches that felt as if my head was literally going to explode. This then lead to the fear that I had something more serious which caused all of my anxiety. Im now left with the tension in the head and neck and a pounding headache that I have all day, everyday.

Hi. I have done some research in the past, and the weird shaped pupil you have claimed has came up in the brain aneurism category. Than again it could be anything. hope you feel better!
