Jiggypuff,

sorry to here about your problem, I am 31 yrs. Old and have had sleeping problems since age 5. I went through various medications and though they helped, I did not like the way they made me feel.

It is difficult for me to keep regular sleeping hours still but I did find out something that helps me out a bit, its actually something I borrowed from a work habbit.

I noticed when I need to get things done I go through a routine, I clear my desk, turn off tv, throw on some music and bam, im in the zone cranking out work on my computer. So by accident, I realized that I had started doing the same before bed and it really helped out.

About a half hour before bed I will turn the tv off, clean up a few things around the house, I will light a scented candle for a while, then sit in the dark and focus on the candle for a few minutes. On the few occasions where I did get to sleep right after, the association began to develop. So now I run the same routine every night, and 80% of the time my brain follows the routine with sleep, as it was trained to do.

I guess its like any other habbit or routine, its all about repition and association, at least for me it was. It felt like my brain just wanted to follow what it was use to.

Just thought this bit of info might help.

Good luck.
