I have a pain in my neck when I take a
deep breath every once in a while. I feel
it in my neck where my corotid artery is
near my ear and also behind my ear. Is
this just nerves, or possibly sore lymph
nodes? Anyone else get this?

I used to get that a lot right when my
anxiety and panic attacks started. I
ocassionally get it now but not as much.

Have you had your ears checked lately?
When you experience pain in the place you
are describing it could be anxiety related
but it may be as simple as your ears are
draining fluid because that is the path
the fluid would go down. If that is the
case it would feel tender around your
ears, behind your ears and down your neck.
You may hear swishing or ringing in your
ears as well. I have always had trouble
with my ears since I was a kid, and have
experienced this at least once a year
sometimes more if I get some sort of virus
or a really bad cold. I hope this helps.

I am no dr but their are a lot of things
that causes neck pain some of them are
sleeping wrong, pulling a muscle, ear
problem, tmj, anxiety and stress and
mediccal problems such as pinched nerves
and disc problems, whiplash along with
other problems. You might think about
asking your dr about an mri if you do feel
it is a medical problem.
Good luck!

I also have been having some neck pain
when I tip my head back or sometimes when
I move it from side to side it's very
stiff. I sometimes wake up with a stiff
neck too. I have been to the doctors
several times within the past 6 months for
all sorts of problems, I am not sure if
they are all somehow related. I am
kind of concerned because now I have a pea
size lump on the left side in the middle
of my neck - it does not hurt really.
I went to the doctors and they gave me an
ultra sound on my neck and then sent me to
get a thyroid scan and the doctor said the
nodules in my neck came back "warm" so I
guess this was a good sign? But he
wants me to get a biopsy done on my
thyroid and the bump I think too..
Last summer it felt like I was "choking"
and I was eating potato chips and could
feel it in the back of my throat but
nothing was found of course and I was
placed on prevacid which worked alright
and then I am not sure if it was cause I
ran out and needed more or I got sick but
in october, I could not swallow anything
at all the only thing that I really ate or
drank was water for 3/4 weeks. It felt
as if I had forgot to swallow lol, I was
really concerned I went to the er and she
sent me to a gastro doc which had me get
an endoscopy (sp?) procedure done, this
found nothing really either.
I finally got sick and tired of all of
this and went to an ent and he said my
throat was very raw and could tell I was
having some problems with my sinuses and
placed me on augamentin sp?} which helped
a bit but I had to go back and he
prescribed levaquin 500 mg which worked
for the most part after needing it for a
total of 20 days all together. Now a
month or so after the meds, my head has
been hurting a bit (mostly at night) and I
feel pressure behind my ears and sometimes
in my ears (mostly the right one) , my
back and legs have been hurting as well
sometimes.. As well as that lump that
was just a little thick mass now it feels
pea sized.. I noticed my mouth is very
dry when I wake up and sometimes my throat
feels sore on and off.
Any ideas??
Sorry for taking everyones time just
thought maybe if I explained the whole
story someone might have some input as to
what it might be or something... By the
way I am only 23 and I am stressed out and
do worry sometimes to much but I do not
think I am bringing this on.. Just
would like to feel better ;)
