Q: Treatment for a Post-Pardum Skin Rash
asked by: DoctorQuestion on February 2nd, 2006
I developed a rash on my stomach, the side of my stomach, buttocks and upper legs. It has been two months since I had given Birth and the rash began with a single red bump that itched. I have had the rash now for four days and it is really bothersome. I went to the doctors and they could not diagnose it. They ruled out hives, food allergen, and a rash caused by eczema. Yet, after my pregnancy my skin did get dry. I use curell and Cocca butter (palmers for stretch marks) lotiion. I have been looking on the web for some answer and was hoping you could help me. Does it have anything to do with just having a baby? or is it something else.

The type of rash that you are describing could be some kind of allergy. You can seek an expert opinion from a dermatologist and request information about a corticosteroid unguent to be used over several days. All skin disorders require visual examination before diagnosis, and you can seek help as soon as possible from a qualified dermatological specialist.
