Q: Nuva Ring Question

Hello all,

next week will be my third month using the nuva ring.
My question to the people that have been using nuva ring for a while....
I know i'm supposed to protect myself on the 1st time of use for the 1st
7 days. What about the 2nd month, third, and so on......After I finish my week of free-ring, once it's inside, do I still need to protect myself for those 7 days???

Also, my ob once told me I could leave it for six months or more to avoid
getting my menstruation, is that true?
Has anyone done that?

I have been using nuvaring for a few months as well. My dr told me that it is only the very first 7 days that you need to protect yourself. It's kind of like the birth control pills. So you are all set now, no need for extra protection against pregnancy :o)
