I have been taking zoloft for a while. I was not sure if it helped and I was feeling better so I quit taking it for about a month. Now I am taking it again but I have been having chest pain, headache, can't drink alcohol much anymore. I was just wondering if this was anxiety or the medicine. Has anyone had any problems with zoloft?

My opinion is is that ou should not drink alchohol while taking meds, it should say that with the pamphlet information you receive with your medication or look it up o the computer and if you have stopped the medication aand are back on it you can still haave some side effects from starting it all over. You might want to talk to your dr about the chest pains and be honest with your dr and let him know about your drinking. Even though I am not a dr I do know that chest pains can also be a sign of anxiety and stress.
Good luck to you!

I too have been taking zoloft for the past 4 months now. It is the first medication I have ever taken before for my anxiety. I am 20 and I like to go and party and have some alcoholic beverages( but I do drink responsibly and don't get out of control), and I have found it not to be a problem because I take my zoloft before I go to bed as I was instructed by my doctor and the pharmacist. I know when I started taking zoloft I had headaches almost everyday for 4 weeks, but I was told that it was a side effect, and it was because now I am fine and I feel it works. I have a question though.... ..When you went off your zoloft was your doctor aware of it? Because I know that you must gradually take yourself off of zoloft or you can make your body "withdrawl", and depending on the amount you have been prescribed and that ranges from 25mg-250mg/day that may have effected a lot of what you are feeling. As for the chest pains, as long as they are not unbearable they are most likely an anxiety symptom. So if you have not seen your doctor in a while, I suggest it, so that your body can be properly re-introduced to the zoloft. I hope I have helped you. If you want to know anything else let me know :)
