Q: Trying to Keep Track Is Infuriating!

Hi everybody,
i'm 48 experiencing what the Dr. Calls perimenopause. Had it all including hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia and on and on! My latest problem is flow that literally lasted 17 days and required hourly changes. Heres my stupid question - when trying to calculate when to expect the next cycle, do I count four weeks ahead from the first day as one usually does, which means I will begin again in 11 days? Or, is it now crazy to even try to guestimate any kind of normal cycle?
Makes it kind of difficult to plan an intimate weekend away!

Thanks for your input

Okay I see this was posted a couple of months ago. If you are still experienceing weird periods, go back to the doctor and ask about being put on progeston (might have misspelled that). Its supposed to regulate your cycle so you can plan ahead. I am having a similar problem for a different reason and the doctor has said he will probably be putting me on that once he is certain of what is causing my cycle. My cycle in feb was twenty five days. Talk about a bummer!!!

To keep track, supposed to be twenty eight days from the first day of your period to figure out your next one. But when your cycle is crazy, I think all bets are off.

Keeping Track..........
Thanks for the response. You are correct when saying all bets are off when it comes to the calculation once the cycle goes haywire. I did actually get another period -7 weeks later! Only lasted 4 days and haven't had anything since. I have given up stressing about it because it won't change anything. Hopefully the doc is correct and I may be completely finished soon!
