Hey everyone, i'm new to this forum, and
as of last week would never have
considered anxiety to be my problem.
Went to the doc couple months ago for
asthma, got the steroids, preventive, and
rescue inhalers, none of which worked. I
still fought to breathe and sometimes had
to yawn to get a full breath. Went back
last week, they did an ecg lung capacity
test to find a mild obstruction, and the
nebulizer made no change, she asked if I
was stressed or upset about anything
lately, and I think I gave her a list a
mile long.
I was perscribed paxil 10mg, but don't
really want to go on medications, I took
lexapro and wellbutrin a couple years ago,
and don't want to go back on anything.
But would anyone know this? I wake up
most mornings with terrible chest pain,
really tight and hurts to breathe, but 30
min. After I get up, i'm fine...It goes
away. I've read alot on here, but haven't
seen this symptom with anyone else.

I have mild asthma, and severe
panic/anxiety (that I now have under
control). The chest pain you get in the
morning doesn't sound like anything you
should be too concerned about if it goes
away. It could be that you are sleeping
on your stomach which puts a lot of
pressure on your chest. It could be a
virus too that has given you a bit of a
chest infection. If its been less than 2
weeks, I wouldn't worry too much because
when i'm getting a cold I too wake up with
a sore chest. If it has been a little
longer ask your doctor for a chest x-ray
to make sure everything is ok. I hope
this helps you.

Thanks cocreative for the link, i'll def.
Give it a look. I've been having the pain
on and off for a year or so, and it's not
every morning, and some mornings are worse
then others and it hurts like h*ll to
breathe. Doc didn't seem too concerned
about it.
I've already cut caffiene out of my diet,
and am working on clearing my mind more
often when breathing gets bad, and even
that is starting to help.
Glad this forum is here, I feel better
even reading about everyone else's
symptoms, makes me realize i'm really not
the only one!
