Q: Diet For a Fatty Liver

My mom just got results from her annual check-up yesterday and was diagnosed to have a fatty liver. She was told that the normal size should be around 10 to 35, but hers is 109. She is overweight and her side of the family has history of diabetes. In fact, her older sister had diabetes. She died a couple of years ago, but not of diab.

I read that with my mom's case, it is important that she loses weight. That she should have a low fat and low calorie diet. I have been looking for hours of a diet that would cater to what her body needs, my mom is 50 and working, and would not aggravate her condition. We are to see another doctor tomorrow, until then I am very apprehensive about which food she should have and which food she should avoid.

Any thoughts, please? Thanks in advance.
