I just started taking necon 1/50 two weeks ago after having tried two different pills. I was switched to this pill due to the high estrogen content because I was having mood swings and breakthrough bleeding. Now my mood swings are taken care of, however 1 week into my active pills I started bleeding. The first two days it was fairly light and the next two days it was a little heavier (not quite as heavy as a full period) and now it seems to be lightening up again.

My question is has anyone else experienced this on necon 1/50 and did it go away for them after being on this pill for a couple of months? Also, how long should I expect this bleeding to last? I have been bleeding for a week now and I am hoping it should stop any day but.....Who knows? Also, will I still get a period during my inactive pills?

Thanks for any information.

Necon 1/50 discontinued availabilty for the manufacturer
I suggest you pay attention to the news. Necon 1/50 has beeen "discontinued" temporarialy due to manufacturing problems and is no longer available on the market. Pharmacists are saying dicontinued but their customer support line at first said discontinued but then said temporarialy not being manufactured. As a parent I am greatly concerned that the drug is not avaiable on the market, not only because we recieved no notice from CVS and she has to get a prescription for an alternative form of birth control, but also for any harmful side effects they may have discovered.
