Hello I just had unprotected sex with my boyfriend today...I'm taking ortho tricyclen lo and it's my 13th day on the pill...I'm just scared coz I didn't took it on the day of my period...I just took it any day on my menstrual cycle...And now i'm experiencing bleeding...Until now...It's been almost 6 days already...And yeah i'm scared...Is the pill effective on the 13th day even if I didn't took it while i'm bleeding...Or should I need a morning after pill? I'm really really scared...I just got divirginized..

You should of taken it on the day the doctor told you to depending on the pill it could take up to a month to get into your system.

The regular combination pill takes 7 days to get into your sysem actually, I am in the healthcare field and educate about birth control. When you start on your period it is effective immediately, when you start on any other day it is effective in 7 days. I already talked to her and helped her :)

The regular combination pill takes 7 days to get into your sysem actually, I am in the healthcare field and educate about birth control. When you start on your period it is effective immediately, when you start on any other day it is effective in 7 days. I already talked to her and helped her :)
