Tmj Sufferer Would Like Some Insight Please!
Posted: 01-29-06 00:40am

Hi all,

i, myself, am a sufferer of tmj (1.5 years now), and have tried various things to cure my disorder but have been seldom successful to date.

Something that pops up as a question for me is always:

i read constantly about experiences and tmj “pain”. I’m really confused as to this because I myself don’t actually feel physical pain (unless I forced my jaw to open its full amount). My jaw simply does not function in the way that it used to prior to my tmj (in that I cannot bring the bottom jaw forward to bite my nails anymore, cannot open my jaw as wide, and I cannot pronounce certain letters in words properly because my jaw is not as mobile anymore).

I would like to know is this the same thing? Is this what other sufferers mean by pain because i’m confused on that note.

I would to know what you're all experiencing when it comes to movement with your jaw, ie, difficulty speaking, and things I had mentioned above. For all of us, tmj commenced in so many different ways but I just want to find out what kind of mobility you all have and what it feels like for you??

Hope to hear from you.
Thank you.

Hi there aussiev - this is ginny off the tmj friends where I first saw your name & message. I have discovered a sight that will tell you everything you want or need to know about tmj - www.Jawjointpainrelief.Com /default.Asp
it is absolutely brillient and if you don't understand your problem after reading the whole lot of information there, then you are never going to find your answers. Best of luck and wishes

Thank you thats a brilliant site!!

I guess tmj symptoms can be so different to person to person and mine seems to be on the painless side however I get a lot of stiffness throughout the day (especailly later on in the day after talking alot) and I have mobility problems....Thats my situation in a nutshell. I mean I can talk ppl at work dont even know im suffering because I try my best to look normal when I speak...But I do struggle at times and it really irritates me.

I find it hard to find someone with tmj with the exact same symptoms as me.. If anyone does pls do contact me id love to hear from you.

Thank you.

Hi again aussiev - dana from tmjfriends.Com e-mailed me another really great sight and one she visits often.
It is www.Drshankland.Com
this is also a very good sight and apart from these two there are plenty around. If you go back to links on the tmjfriends you will also find a lot there or private message the administrators on that sight as they are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Hope you are having a better day. Regards
