Heart Disease & Heart Attack Answer A313
If there were small occlusions of the coronary blood vessels, angioplastic intervention is not recommended; instead, medications could be useful. The heart chambers could be enlarged as a result of chronic heart disease; this would also require pharmaceutical drugs. Hardening of the arteries (arteriosclerosis) means that the walls of the blood vessels have become inelastic ; there is too much calcium present.
