Why do Results of Heart Catherization Require Medication? Posted: 01-28-06 18:12pm
i had a heart catherization and was told
that no blockages was seen, but what was
seen could be treated with medication,my
question"what could have been seen that
would require medication?" i have also
been diagnosed with "hardening of the
arteries" in previous examination.
If there were small occlusions of the
coronary blood vessels, angioplastic
intervention is not recommended; instead,
medications could be useful. The heart
chambers could be enlarged as a result of
chronic heart disease; this would also
require pharmaceutical drugs. Hardening of
the arteries (arteriosclerosis) means that
the walls of the blood vessels have become
inelastic ; there is too much calcium
present.
