Q: Can I be Pregnant if I Bleed Every Month?
asked by: DoctorQuestion on January 28th, 2006
Hi I am 18 years old and I think I may be pregnant. I urinate very often, I have ugly stretch marks, I have gained a significant amount of weight in the past 3 months, I get nausea, I have had food cravings, I eat more than what I use to, and my mood swings are awful, I literally go from happy to angry in 2 seconds. But I still have my period, but the past couple of months it has been, lighter, shorter, and the blood is a lite red color not its usual dark color. I do not know if I should take a pregnancy test or not since I still have my period every month. Will you please help me and let me know what to do.
Thanks,
A very concerned woman

I don’t think that you are pregnant because you have had a period (if you are sure about that); you can still take a pregnancy test to be 100% sure. I am more inclined to believe that you have a vaginal or urinary infection (colpitis/urethritis) and anxious-depressive disorder. You can immediately follow up with your doctor.
