10 months ago I started having difficulty
breathing, mucus in my throat that has
effected my voice, sore red irratated
throat and vocal cords. I also have a
sensation of something in my throat and a
feeling of constriction in my throat as
well as stiffness. I'm constantly
swallowing. I can occasionally spit out
some mucus from my throat. I've been
seeing an ent specialist and he initially
thought it may be reflux. I've been
extensively tested for this and it is not
reflux. I've had a barium swallow,
monometry, lung x-ray, sinus and throat ct
scan all with normal indications.
The only change in our family prior
to my first symptom was our family got a
puppy. We kept the dog until two months
ago and sent her to my inlaws thinking I
may be alergic. We extensively cleaned
and got rid of our carpets. Within a
week my symptoms slightly improved and
have since leveled off. I went to an
allergist and found I was alergic to dust
but not animal dander. However i've
always had difficulty with cats and
animals with fluffy hair.
The only other issue I can add is I went
out of the country 3 times just prior to
these symptoms. Three months prior I
went to equador. Two months prior I went
to germany and the month prior I went to
turkey. I spent about 3 weeks at each
location. I'm out of ideas. My ent
wants to test me for cough varient asthma?
I've always been a runner and never had
problems with my breathing. Prior to
this i've never been sick i've always been
very healthy. This problem is affecting
my job. Any information would be greatly
appreciated. Thank you

Oh yes it definately sounds like athsma, I
am sorry.. My fiance is a dj and thought
all of those problems were refulx too,
because he read stuff online about reflux
affectinf throats ect... He started using
allergy meds and some athsma meds and now
he is okay. I have athsma, so when we
started going out I told him that his
symptoms remind me of mine. It is most
likely allergy/athsma related my dear.
