Pregnancy Answer A305
Vaginal bleeding during pregnancy should be taken seriously because of possible miscarriage. Vaginal bleeding doesn’t always mean miscarriage. About 20% of all pregnant women experience bleeding during their first trimester of pregnancy; only half of them will miscarry. If the embryo is alive you have a 90% chance of keeping the pregnancy. You can proceed to your gynecologist to request an ultrasound confirmation of the fetus' health.
