I've had left butt pain which has finally been diagnosed correctly:
a tear in the labrum. Results also showed mild hip dysplasia in the left hip (which I think i've had for a long while but has never caused any problems at all until recently.)

doctors think I should have arthroscopic hip surgery. If I was sure that my pain was because of the labral tear, i'd go ahead and have the surgery to relieve the pain. -but if my pain is due to the dysplasia, surgery won't help with pain, correct? I am confused.

I'm thinking (hoping) that the pain is probably due to the labral tear, not the mild dysplasia. Am I thinking correctly?

Any replies/feedback would be greatly appreciated.
